Bexley is in south east London and forms part of Outer London.

Geography

It has common borders with the London Borough of Bromley to the south, the London Borough of Greenwich to the west, and Dartford borough in Kent to the east. The River Thames is its northernmost boundary. Population: 219,500 Area: 60.56 km²

History

The borough was formed in 1965 by the merger of the former area of the Municipal Borough of Bexley, the Municipal Borough of Erith and the Crayford Urban District with half of Chislehurst and Sidcup Urban District.
