Using the site

This site provides details about the various tourist facilities that can be found within the whole of the UK. In the top left corner is a drop down menu that provides searches based on other tourist facilities (Pubs, Restaurants, Attractions etc). All databases are cross related so you can find accommodation close to an attraction or vice versa.

Location searches

You can specify the location you wish to search by entering any one of the following factors:

Country - this will find all properties in a country and return the results (e.g. Scotland)

Region - results will include all properties in that region (e.g. South West)

County - to get results for a specific county (e.g. Cornwall)

City, Town or Village - the search will be restricted to a specific place. Where more than one location is found that matches your text, a list of possible locations will be offered (e.g. Staunton)

Post Code - all properties in the postal code area will be returned (e.g. LE16)

Popular Tourist Destinations - returns properties in the county/counties where the tourist destination is located (e.g Wye Valley)

If you leave the Location field blank, the system will search the whole of the UK.

Establishment Name

If you are looking for a particular establishment, enter the name or any part of the name, and all entries that contain your text will be returned. To narrow the search, you may wish to enter a locality as well.

Business Types

Within the system, clients are subdivided into various business types. You can select a specific type of business from the drop down menu in the Search Engine fields. To select more than one business type, hold down the CNTRL key and click on the business types you require. If you do not specify a specific type, all types in the search area will be returned. The results will show which types apply to each entry by the icon displayed on the left hand side

For accommodation searches only, you can also limited the results to meet specific room type and price requirements and you can limit the results to meet recognised standards by selecting the minimum level of accolade you require.

Advance searches

By selecting the factors contained in the advance search fields, you can obtain properties that exactly match your needs. Note that the results returned will only be for those properties that have opted to be included in the advance search facility and if there are fewer choices returned than you wish, either widen the search area or reduce the factors to increase your choices.
